Another year, another solid effort from 2K Sports. NBA 2K10 maintains its dominance of basketball video games once again, and the developers are clearly not resting on their laurels.

It's tough to choose between this and NBA Live 10, but in this reviewer's opinion, NBA 2K10 wins at the buzzer.

Creating new players with your buddies and forming online crews to play five-on-five matches against other crews is cool. [Dec 2009, p.74]
ImpulseGamer
So with an incredibly polished game like this, it is no wonder that NBA 2K10 still holds its own against EA’s juggernaut.

The best b'ball game of the season, but still not perfect. [Christmas 2009, p.90]

Great graphics, amazing gameplay and awesome value are the key words in NBA 2K10. This is a game franchise that improves every year.

This part hasn’t really changed with the last one. The gameplay is almost identical (and that means good). The biggest difference is the public that looks almost real. Only the menu is a little bit annoying.

It isn't the perfect game yet, but the changes in gameplay are right, and the extra mode MyPlayer works very well.

NBA 2K10 is a fantastic, fun, and deep representation of the NBA experience. While it may be too much for a very casual basketball fan looking for an arcade experience and instant gratification, 2K10 will certainly appeal to longtime fans.

If it wasn’t for some issues we mentioned in the review, this could have easily been the best basketball game ever. Next year maybe?

2K10 retains its crown as the best pro basketball game on the market, albeit just barely.

2K's still doing its job properly, just as it has to be done. The latest edition of the basketball sim has improved in every aspect of the gameplay mechanics, but's still suffering some lame player animations. With plenty of gameplay modes -including online, my player, real NBA stats...-, this year's version is one of the best sports videogames that we've played so far.

With solid, fast paced gameplay and an excellent presentation that's easily the best the series has ever had, NBA 2K10 continues its strong pedigree of great basketball.

2K10 makes some great strides in presentation this year with fewer changes in gameplay.

My Player mode’s uphill struggle may not appeal to everyone, but the outstanding presentation and best-in-class Association mode make NBA 2K10 the best basketball sim.

The biggest difference between 2K9 and 2K10 is My Player mode. It's yet another new take on a single player version of the game, and it adds a layer to what is already an high-octane version of basketball.

Ultimately, the frame rate and online issues transform what could have been an incredible game into a very good game.

It's still number one - barely. [Dec 2009, p.122]
Gamer.nl
This is a very well rounded basketball game, made by and for fans of the sport. The countless details and different facets of the sport are perfectly recreated in the game. The graphics are insanely realistic, but the frame rate suffers sometimes because of it. Still, this is the best basketball game of this season.

NBA 2K10 has been improved on a couple of points in comparison with is predecessor. The My Player mode is a lot of fun, the defense mechanics has improved and the players conditions are much more realistic...There still a few bugs in the gameplay, like players defending the wrong player. And Visual Concepts, please bring back the online lobbies, please?

While NBA 2K10 may not be quite in the title picture, it's definitely ready to jockey for a playoff spot.

This one looks a little better, the commentary is definitely better, the online and multiplayer (in my experience) was a bit more fun, the movement physics are more authentic, and the many features and options are on par with Live. But the occasionally iffy control, very questionable AI, and significant balance issues makes me give the nod to EA.

What this fast-paced basketball game lacks in depth, it makes up for in fun.

NBA 2K10 is an excellent basketball game that's full of nagging technical problems. It's a shame that some players probably won't be able to look past the inconsistent frame rate, online issues, and A.I. quirks, because NBA 2K10 does many things very, very well.

L d. gave it a9:
It's awesome. Some minor glitches but it's still the best simulation of basketball. Beautiful graphics, smooth gameplay and a lot of content.
Ted A. gave it a10:
Anyone who's been a fan of this franchise for years can appreciate the small changes they have made in the game play as well as the improved physics, graphics and commentary. The game looks great and feels even better.
