GamePro

Overall, it's a must-have and a keeper in your PC collection. With crystal-clear visuals and addictive gameplay, not to mention loads of replay value, you'll be telling your friends about this one. Unscramble some words and get going. Lex is waiting for you, giant lenses and all.

Destructoid

While Bookworm Adventures 2 doesn't appear to offer anything startlingly new or different, it does stick by the formula that PopCap seems to have down to a science. The game is high quality and a lot of fun to play, and the only negative thing I can really say about it is that if you don't care for word games, it probably won't appeal to you.

GamingTrend

It’s addicting as hell (breaking away from it long enough to write this review has been tough), incredibly well-crafted, and is simply just a ton of fun.

Gamer Limit

The game is simple, addictive and silly. Whilst it changes very few elements from the original, minimal change was needed to recapture the tremendous amount of fun.

PC Gamer UK

Good, excellent, tip-top, neat, sound, and indeed marvelous. A casual adventure for even the most hardcore word geek. [Oct 2009, p.86]

IGN

PopCap is one of the most consistent developers around, and Bookworm Adventures 2 is another quality, breezy puzzle game (with RPG elements). Its sense of humor is pretty cheesy, but that just seems to add to its charm. What it lacks in serious challenge, it makes up for in length.

Game Revolution

Bookworm Adventures 2 is PopCap at the top of its (literal) game: Great presentation, quirky humor, loads of play and replay value... and God help us all, it's even educational. Do yourself a favor and play it anyway.

Eurogamer

Adorable, not only for kids as the presentation may immediately suggest, and very silly, it's another big success for PopCap. If only it would get properly challenging it would be a giant classic. As it is, it's a thing of loveliness you should buy this instant.

Edge Magazine

That teetering battle between pride and strategy than ensues every time you decide whether to comprehensively flatten a villain with an unnecessary monosyllabic flourish or gamble on saving it for your next target, hoping the board doesn’t get scrambled before you get a chance to show off.

AceGamez

Bookworm Adventures: Volume 2 is a lengthy game that can be easily played in short bursts, but might become tedious during prolonged sessions - although progressing through the bizarre story and unlocking new treasures can be pretty addictive.

Absolute Games

PopCap had two and a half years to develop ideas of the original game (it wouldn’t have hurt to up the resolution to at least 1280x720) while keeping the spirit and style. Nevertheless, despite its lack of imagination, Bookworm Adventures Volume 2 is a welcome relief in an endless crowd of “hidden objects” and “match-3” games.

My Gamer

Bookworm is exactly what it says that it is, a game where a worm goes around beating up creatures using only the power of his words. If that sounds like a good time, and have fun with the daily word jumble, Bookworm Adventures is probably the right game for you.

Bookworm Adventures 2 is a typical PopCap-game: simple and annoyingly addictive. You want to play for ten minutes, but before you know it two hours have passed. The game deserves a thumb up, but is only for those with a decent English vocabulary.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)

Pen is mightier than the sword as you can see in this sequel to logical words game. Pity there is not much improvement since the previous installment and all duels soon become boring. [Oct 2009]

Julie V. gave it a10:
This has been a great game for my 7 & 3 year olds. The 7 year old is becoming better at spelling from playing this game and my 3 year old now knows his letters by site and can even spell 3 letter words now because of this game. Nothing better than joyful learning!
