Variety Russell Edwards
An average slasher picture that meanders indecisively between gore and gags.
Read Full Review >Empire Kim Newman
Even the gratuitous nudity can't quite save a Heathers-goes-to-college horror that's undermined by a silly plot and clunky dialogue.
Read Full Review >The Hollywood Reporter Frank Scheck
There's little to distinguish this from the rest of the entries coming down the horror film assembly line, though the presence of Carrie Fisher as a shotgun-toting housemother who taunts the killer by shouting "Come to mama!" offers some camp value.
Read Full Review >Los Angeles Times Kevin Thomas
It lapses into that familiar category of movies that go in for lots of fancy obfuscation along the way only to make its story seem all the more simple, trite and contrived by the finish.
Read Full Review >Time Out New York Aaron Hillis
In this breeding ground for date rape and HPV, there are some trashy kicks in seeing horrible people get theirs, plus housemother Fisher goes all buck wild with a shotgun.

An interminable mess of a film that juggles more characters and undeveloped subplots than it can handle and even manages to bungle the setup.

Call me the sarcastic sister, but the only things screaming in any convincing way here are the cheap look, epileptic direction and off-key, “edgy” humor. It’s all so ‘80s, I could die.
Read Full Review >Boston Globe Jonathan Perry
Follows the imaginatively bankrupt trend of remaking slasher films from the 1970s and ’80s. This time, it’s a regurgitation of Mark Rosman’s “The House on Sorority Row.’’
Read Full Review >The Onion (A.V. Club) Steven Hyden
Sorority Row might be utterly lacking in suspense, surprises, and wit, but nobody can say it doesn’t have a hero.
Read Full Review >Entertainment Weekly Kate Ward
The tedious flick offers little more than a few scares, and plenty of boobs. And we're not just talking about the cast.
Read Full Review >Austin Chronicle Marc Savlov
Brings absolutely nothing new to the autopsy table that wasn't previously covered.

Travis H gave it a7:
It's bloody, raunchy, exploitive and oh so much fun. If your thing is 80's style slashers with a ton of cheesecake thrown in, then you'll enjoy this. Think too much about it and you're gonna exert yourself right out of a good time.
[Anonymous] gave it a10:
The movie was good! Witty, scary, funny, entertaining and a must see. and a surprise ending.
I Killed Jenny Shecter gave it a10:
Such a fun, trashtastic movie. It was vulgar and bitchy and very Heatherseque. The kills were inventive and actually bloody, not to mention orally themed. Kinda moralistic, but never preachy. Turn off your brain and have fun. Message to RobZombie: This is what a slasher movie is supposed to look like.
Chad S gave it a7:
With all due apologies to Billy Joel, "Sorority Row" didn't start the fire. Filmmaker Tim Hunter lit the match in 1986 when he shocked Sundance audiences with his debut film "River's Edge", which told the story about a new breed of kids who lacked the moral compass to report the death of a fellow classmates. As Jessica(Leah Pipes), the ice queen of Theta Pi, compartmentalizes the aftermath from the murder of a sister, the moviegoer may remember Layne(Crispin Glover), a speed addict, making the same quintessential disconnect which freed his stoner friends from culpability. But that was then, and this is now. It's hotter. Whereas Samson(Daniel Roebuck) acted alone, Jessica and her privileged sorority sisters are accomplices to the crime. Eight months later, they're toasting with champagne on graduation day as if that fateful practical joke gone horribly wrong, never transpired. A murdered friend, who's rotting away at the bottom of a well, puts no crimp in their house parties and f****. During the course of the killer's retribution, Jessica's ironic stance towards the corpses seem pitched somewhere between a parody on the horror genre itself, and social commentary about the real life horror of having no feelings. Even though "Sorority Row" doesn't know when to stop and supplants the organic(to the story) killer with a far-fetched one, this superior slasher pic burns down the house with a toxic girls gone wild vibe that makes elitism look like fun.

This Movie was actually good. Has great actresses in the film. Great acting and really suspenseful. Couldn't wait to see what happened next.
B gave it a10:
Best teen slasher flick since 'Scream' and 'IKWYDLS' back in the 90's. Perfect balance of comedy and horror, lots of violence, nudity and it's just pure fun. A must see for slasher fans.
